Respectful and culturally appropriate care

Our practice provides respectful and culturally appropriate care to patients.

  1. Our practice does not discriminate against patients on the basis of their gender, race, disability, Aboriginality, age, sexual preference, beliefs or medical condition
  2. Patient are free to seek a further clinical opinion
  3. On request we are happy to transfer care to another GP in another practice when a patient wants to leave. We will arrange for the transer of medical files.
  4. We provide privacy for patients and others in distress
Our practice has uses patient feedback to establish whether patients of our practice are treated respectfully 
 
 
 
 

Patient feedback

Our practice provides opportunities for, and responds to, patient feedback.

  1. Our practice has a process for receiving and responding to feedback and complaints from patients and other people
  2. Our practice makes contact information for the state/territory health complaints agency readily available to patients on request

Presence of a third party

The presence of a third party observing or being involved in the clinical care during a consultation occurs only with the permission of the patient prior to the consultation.

  1. A third party will only be allowed to attend a consultation with the patients prior permission.
  2. We have a policy about the presence of a third person at a consultation
